Question by : Whats the difference between Yoga and Pilates?
Well i’m considering quiting smoking and picking up a new healthy habit, but i also would like to tone up my legs, butt and abbs so i need to know the difference between yoga and pilates and also which one would better help me achieve my goals? any insight would be helpful!

Yoga is more stretches and other positions, while Pilate’s really works out your core and is more intense.

  1. The point of yoga is to balance your body with your mind and prepare you physically for meditation. The primary focus of yoga is not to lose weight or tone up at all. However, with regular practice, yoga builds a graceful body similar to that of a dancer. Pilates is a take off on yoga and is exercise for flexibility and weight loss.

  2. Pilates is another form of exercise, just like aerobics. It focus on improving your physic and tone it. But yoga intention is to connect your body with your mind and sould through the physical activity and the breathing techniques. With a regular practice, yoga will give you a very slender, tone and lenghten body.
