Question by : Is Pilates good as yoga when it comes to flexibility?
Can Pilates make you as flexible as doing yoga? I mean in gymnastics, do people do Pilates more or yoga?

pilates is really good for building muscle, better than yoga and im guessing the stretch is just as good

  1. I guess yes, given the number of dancers (especially ballet) that do it.

    As far as what gymnasts do more, I don’t know, but again would guess Pilate’s, simply because they primarily seek physical results.

    Even tho many Americans do yoga as only as physical exercise regime, yoga still has its roots in a spiritual practice.
    If a person simply desires to become flexible or physically fit, why bother with the potential spiritual “baggage” that comes with yoga (if that’s not what you’re interested in), when you can get near the same results from Pilate’s with out said baggage.
