Recently I decided I wanted to get in shape and lose some of the excess fat on my body. I am around 5’2” and weighed about 120 roughly three weeks ago. Since then I have been hitting the gym regularly for about 40 minutes and eating a lot healthier. I have cut back on my calories, carbs, and sugars. Currently I weigh 116 although my weight itself doesn’t mean as much to me as how I feel and look. Two weeks ago I decided to pull out an old pilates tape I had from years back. I want to start to tone more and was wondering if the pilates will help me to do that? I really want to get more tone and definition in my body. Thanks!!

I’m not overweight or anything, at 20 yrs old i’m 5’5 – 125-130 lbs, but lately i’ve just been wanting to exercise in other ways than just running/jogging. i was thinking of maybe doing a yoga class or something.

but are there any good exercises that will tone up my abs that I can do at home as well?

Squats are good.

Leaning your back against a wall while in a half squat (like you were sitting on a chair) and just holding it. Start at holding for 30 seconds and build it up. You’ll feel the burn.

Lunges not only tone they stretch your muscles as well.

Pilates is good for toning, strengthening and stretching your muscles and encompasses most of these exercises.
