Question by nicnic: What is the best form of exercise/martial arts to help gain complete muscle control and toning?
I’m looking for some type of martial art or other type of structured exercise (other than weight lifting) that will allow me to gain complete control over every muscle and movement as well as strengthen. I’ve looked at Judo and Muay Thai, but I’m not sure if they are what I’m looking for. Any suggestions? I am also a relatively small, young female that doesn’t want to be in a room full of nothing but competitive men.

besides a good weight training regimine and proper diet i dont think there is such a thing, IMO. but people are always looking to get bigger and add muscle. what they dont understand that is a good exercise program no matter what it may be is only half of the equation, the other is a good diet or food regimine. without that you are defeating the purpose. you cant add muscle or tone muscle, well you can but only to a certain degree without proper nutrition.

i am looking for some kind of yoga and pilates routine without any kind of weights or equipment, cause right now i don’t have any, but in the near future i will get some. i need a 5-7 day routine that is shows the best results and that will tone and slim quick. but i need something that is good for beginners, cause i do not exercise very often. please help.

I do a form of power yoga that mixes in pilates movements so I get it all in the YRG workout. I used to lift but don’t anymore because YRG has toned my body. I was skeptical but I read all the success stories they had so I tried it. They have some free YRG content at the site below otherwise I found their DVD’s on ebay. Good Luck

I’m giving myself the summer to get healthy. I weight about 143 pounds but all the weight goes to my butt and thighs. By the end of the summer ideally I’d like to be at 125 but realistically I am very unmotivated and lazy so I don’t see me losing more than maybe 10 pounds. I have a tredmil in my house and that is my only equipment. So how could I go about losing some of the fat from my butt and thighs? Thanks

Go to youtube.com and type in Dr. Neal Barnard. He has a lot of videos you can watch. I recommend his series of 4 short videos, total time under an hour. He hardly mentions exercise in the videos, but he’s very much in favor of it.

There are a lot of other videos you will see advertised on YouTube. I encourage you to give them a try.
